First and foremost- congrats!!! Will you keep us posted as to whether or not you receive all DODEA benefits despite already being overseas? Ie LQA, RAT, household goods shipped.

Yes I definitely will keep you updated. My home of record is in the US. My company here will ship me home and then I will head back out to my assignment from there. So I don't anticipate any problem with getting all of my benefits.

Thanks, Joe! How did you keep your home of record in the US? My husband and I are going to be at an international school next year, but the plan is to continue to try for DODEA. I want to make sure that we do the right things before we go to keep our home of record in the US.

thats just how my company does it. they fly us home to our home of record every summer. I have kept my parents address as my residency and mail address. Which international school will you be at?

You can keep your address listed as a US address which will help. If you are living and working outside of the US though (and using your int'l school employer as a reference and/or for years of experience), it can still be questioned since the actual policy on benefits refers to where you are located when you accept the offer.
