Hey All!

I'm SPED Teacher with a strong (strong is probably an understatement) desire to work overseas.

This is my first year applying and given the fact that it's almost June and I haven't been contacted, I'm assuming I won't be working with DODDS this year.....BUUUUUT I'm not giving up hope! I'm staying positive though. Maybe next year will work out.

My question is.... How long did everyone on here wait from the time they submitted an application to the day an offer was made? 2 years? 3 years?

Any info would helpful :)

haha 4 years (also a SPED teacher) but for most of that I did not have my Masters and was only qualified (sort of) for LIMM (but did make several referral lists and had three interviews). Almost as soon as I finished my Masters, thereby adding 6 more areas, I received an interview and finally an offer.

Icanread It took me about a year, but I think I have a high-needs cert. It just depends on so much - your certs, positions open, etc... though I know that's not a clear or easy answer.

HelpOthers The more areas of special education you are certified in the more likely you are to be hired.
