There seem to be quite a few openings every year. SPED seems to be the most common positions for new hires we hear about on here and seems to be a good area to have for getting into DoDEA (helped me :D).

The DoDEA schools stateside tend to have a 15-20% special education population and overseas is closer to 10% (depending on the area and medical supports there).
