Agreed. You will want to make sure you are certified in all the math areas at middle and secondary levels including at least one or two AP classes. If you can add science or others, your application will stand out more.

If you are only math certified then do your best to make sure that you are qualified for secondary math and ideally some of the AP courses. There are openings every year somewhere in the world.
