DODD Teachers Chatboard

Moving from GS position

I'm wondering if anyone else has moved into a DODD position from a GS position. I've been working as a military social worker for the past few years, and have received a tentative offer for an guidance position at Camp Humphreys. On June 22nd I received an email from the PSIP Center of Excellence with the subject line "Investigation Request Acknowledgement". It's basically saying that a background investigation request has been made, and goes on to say that if the investigation is needed, I'll get another email with further instructions. Is this the usual way the background check goes? I'm wondering if they are able to use my most recent background check conducted for the Army, rather than doing a new one. Thanks!

haha That sounds about right from what people have posted recently (I'm sure someone who went through the process more recently can confirm or deny).

As for using your old/current background check it almost happens for some reason.
