Lots of people in Japan bring their dogs, but I do believe there could be a breed restriction.

Sugarcubes, you either have to pay a third party shipper, or accompany the pet yourself.

LolaTeach, yes, I agree. Some airlines only allow third party shippers. My comment was that not ALL US airlines use third party shippers, it just depends. Agreed. I PCSd three times in the past 4 years, and last year was much different than my past experiences. I went in thinking hay it would be a smooth move since it wasn't my first rodeo and ended up spending weeks jumping through hoops.
