Timeline and info. needed

Received tent. offer June 27. Returned necessary paper work to HR rep. Sunday June 30. (All docs. and 5013 forms for tent. offer). Form OF 306 returned to me on Friday July 6 because I messed up on a date format. Corrected and returned same day. Received initial email for official passports yesterday July 9. I've not received any other info on the background check, etc. Does any one know how long this all usually takes? I'm under contract with my current school district for the upcoming school year, and they're getting a little antsy. I really would like to let them know something sooner than later in hopes of getting released from my contract without consequence.

Also, is there anybody currently working for DoDEA whose previous district refused to let him/ her out of contract and got reported to the state education agency and had action taken against you by the state? The thought of this really freaks me out!

haha It happens but it's not that common since generally the principal and/or someone at district realizes the unusual nature of the opportunity.

Mrs.C I guess I don't know all of the rules specific to the state of Texas but I believe generally speaking the school board and/or administration would have to initiate the actions required to revoke your license. HelpOthers As haha stated earlier, getting certified in another state (find one that would be quick and easy) can be a good back-up especially if you need that certificate to reduce the number of hours required to help you with your DoDEA certificate.
