What's the process to apply for an overseas job if I'm working DODD stateside? I don't think it is through EAS. I'm considering accepting a job stateside, but would like to work overseas. Even though I know there is no transfer between the two, I was told that the application would be considered an internal application which would place me at a somewhat higher priority on the hiring ladder. And, yes, I know that it's never a guarantee anyway. I'm just researching. Thanks!
haha It is generally through EAS, unless it is an announcement that comes through an internal DoDEA email (which is fairly rare).

HelpOthers Yes, you apply through EAS, just like anyone else, but it will say internal hire. If you have Vet preference, it will no help to be hired from one position within the same organization to another, so being a stateside hire and moving to an overseas hire is less likely for you than being hired from outside DODEA.

HelpOthers If you are offered a stateside position and turn it down, you will not be able to receive any more interviews and offers this hiring year. Assuming you already have an application in EAS, just open up your areas of consideration to the stateside locations you could move yourself to and the overseas locations you are willing to go.

HelpOthers If you accept the stateside position, your application will be frozen and you will need to ask them to unfreeze it in the spring to be considered for the following school-year.
