Agreed that it is difficult to predict how the circumstances of your personal exit could affect your future chances. Judging by the many, many posts on the DoD FB page of teachers who have left and come back (and in some cases, left and came back again) it's certainly not unheard of in general for teachers to be rehired.

I think the majority of rehires are actually spouses or former spouses. There initially came aboard as local hires in Dodds when their partner was stationed overseas.
