Foreign transaction fees

I have a credit union but they charge a small transaction fee for transfer of currency or aka foreign transactions. I can't get usaa. What to do?

haha Open an account at one of the banks or credit unions on base at your new location. They generally offer good deals if you sign up for direct deposit of your check and you can generally withdraw foreign currency or dollars with no fee.
