I know this has been asked before. Sorry!

If I get hired stateside...can my children attend the base schools?

Thanks.
Icanread Generally, I believe that's a yes, but I don't know if it's true for all the bases/schools. My children attend the schools on base. I'm not sure if there are locations where it's not allowed though. I would ask HR when/if you get an offer.

haha If you live on base, generally it's yes. If you live off base it's generally a no (but could be possible). This is just from what I have read/heard so, yes, confirm with HR.

Icanread It must depend on the base/country. Most teachers here live off base, and our kids all go to school on base. I'm curious if that changes depending on location because if we were ever to transfer, I'd want to make sure my kids could go to school on base.

someday You have to live on base if you want them to go to base schools when stateside. That is true even for military members.

haha All overseas locations allow our children to attend DoDEA schools (provided their grade is offered at that complex/within commuting distance).

It's only an issue with DoDEA Americas (stateside).
