I am applying for the first time and wondering if it would take a miracle to find a position. I have tried to read all the guidance on hiring veterans that has been put out by DODEA. I should have the highest veterans preference possible. I am over 30% service connected and completed a VA training program (vocrehab). Has any other veteran on here had any luck securing a position. I only have 3 years of teaching experience so I am a little worried about my chances. From what I can tell I should be certified to teach Biology, Health, Chemistry, Physics, and PE in DODEA.

RJ In your case, it would be called Family Member Preference, I'm not sure where you would add it to the application, however it may help your chances of being hired. I am attaching a link with the official guidelines from DODEA https://www.dodea.edu/Pacific/offices/HR/upload/Family-Member-Preference.pdf
