Hello. I am former international school educator, back in the USA in public schools and looking to get into the DoDEA. My application has been in the system for about 9 years and I haven't ever gotten any contact. Not once. The last statements on my application say 9/2013: Qualified and then in 9/2016: upload official transcripts (which I did). I went ahead and renewed my application this past winter. Any ideas on who to contact or what I can do? I have 10 years of experience.

haha Yep.

With the double posts you basically have to click once and then assume it has been posted, even if nothing is happening (and open up the page in another tab if you want to make sure it went through).

HelpOthers I didn't realize the first few years I was in EAS that you must upload the same transcripts EVERY year when you renew your application. If you have not uploaded them since 2013, you have not really been active in the system since 2014.

Belle Thank you for your help! I have contacted the HR department and my status has now changed to Qualified--yes! Are school counseling positions hard to come by though?

HelpOthers Often current DoDEA educators are also school counselor certified, but you might still make it onto a referral list.

haha Counseling positions are a little tough to come by, mainly because they are generally limited to 1-2 per school.

On the plus side, all of the counselors at the schools I have worked at (and a number of others personally known to me) were hired as counselors from stateside (although a few did come from DoDEA Americas).
