Hello everyone,

I'm an external applicant who did a career change to teaching. I have been a licensed K-12 teacher in Ohio since 2018. The DODEA requires that along with my teaching certificate, a minimum of nine semester hours of professional teacher education is required. In a way, this has been redundant since I essentially had to do this for the Ohio Department of Education.

I have been playing the game and making the grade, but won't have my ninth unit completed from Grand Canyon Univ. until June 9th.

Am I already behind schedule for the 2019-2020 recruiting season with DODEA? I welcome your feedback.
haha You would be a little behind since it would still take time for HR to get your transcripts, evaluate them and then make the change to your EAS. On the other hand, hiring seems to be starting a little later this year compared to last year and in theory you could still get referrals/interviews/offers even before your application is finalized.so it sh...See More

HelpOthers Have you already reviewed your previous transcripts to see if you actually did take the needed credits? Maybe you just need to send them course descriptions that clearly show they are what DoDEA wants. As for being too late. It just might be with people receiving referrals already.
