I'm in a similar situation. They only counted my teaching experience. They did not count my time as a reading specialist or instructional coach. I had 15 years experience, but only received credit for 5. A little disappointing but the salary is still much higher than I currently make.

Interesting, and a little surprising given that they have recently cut classroom teachers/specialists in many/most schools. I would say it it would be something new for many/most campuses. Always something new with DoDEA. :D

Hmmm... it will be interesting to see how/where this position will be used in schools. Where was the job listing for it? USAjobs? Or were applicants pulled from EAS?
Couple of Questions
There is a form you will fill out and it will be adjusted. My husband's initial paperwork said the same thing, and he has a Doctorate. I think back when he was hired we even questioned it, but as I said, everything was adjusted.
