So those of you that are overseas, about how much is taken out of your paycheck for taxes, anything else, etc? About 20%? Paid monthly or biweekly?

haha That doesn't sound good (although I haven't really calculated our total deductions/percentage of deductions lately). PR has always struck me as a less than ideal posting with DoDEA (outside of mainland US but not compensated like living overseas).

Kreeble Its a very small base and mostly local hires, only about 6 of us statesiders at my school. Little to no diversity amongst the population. We dont live near the beach, close enough, but we arent beach people. Its a very expensive place to live. My husband can't find work so its been stressful, Im planning on a second job. HelpOthers artkreeble, if you are hired from PR to go to a foreign country, will PR be considered your home of record? I ask because in DDESS, I relocated a couple times and the place I was hired from to go overseas became my HOR even though I was there less than a year. Kreeble @mary I have been thinking about that and the best I can come up with is my drivers license and permanent address is still Colorado so I'm hoping that will stick. Does that sound viable?? I wont make it if this is my HOR.

HelpOthers @artkreeble and you have a transporation agreement that got your to PR, so maybe use that to get you back to Colorado, so they can move you from Colorado and have that be your HoR?
