My wife interviewed for a position with an AP and the retiring principal of a school in Europe. She hasn't heard anything (replies to emails, positioned closed email, news on the grapevine, etc.) in the six weeks since. Is there a chance the incoming principal will conduct his/her own interviews or take a recommendation from their predecessor?

TeacherAF Thanks for your feedback. She contacted HR several weeks ago. They gave her an email to send her query to, but it was to hhq who told her they couldn't help, and to contact the principal. So the circle is now complete. We'll continue to wait.

educatormama FYI I had a similar situation with a similar run around. I thought for sure I didn't get it but I was offered the position 4 months after my interview.

HelpOthers Sometimes their first choice declines or backs out before the process is fished and they go to the next person on the list, which is why they don't like to tell people a position has been filled until the new person is in place.
