Thanks for your feedback. She contacted HR several weeks ago. They gave her an email to send her query to, but it was to hhq who told her they couldn't help, and to contact the principal. So the circle is now complete. We'll continue to wait.

FYI I had a similar situation with a similar run around. I thought for sure I didn't get it but I was offered the position 4 months after my interview.

Sometimes their first choice declines or backs out before the process is fished and they go to the next person on the list, which is why they don't like to tell people a position has been filled until the new person is in place.
