Hi all. Well, I changed my application files...like you all said...and I got an e-mail the next day! The problem is that it's part-time. I CAN'T take a part-time job. Do I just ignore it, or is there any benefit to e-mailing the principal to let them know that I'm interested if another opening comes up that would make it a full-time job? (One of my calls 2 years ago was for a dual-school position: part-time at one school and part-time at another.) Thanks.

HelpOthers I agree that yes, you should reply. However, before you do that, check to make sure you could not work part-time. My first DoDEA job was part-time. It was almost the amount of money I had been earning full-time and the housing was half the price of our mortgage, so working part-time actually put us pretty even. dodhopeful haha it was an auto generated hr email stating the position was open and if i wanted to be considered i need to change my application status to allow for part time jobs.

haha Ah, OK. You could just ignore it without likely consequences then. Agree that you should run the numbers just to have a point of comparison to your current situation. .5 teachers get .5 benefits from my understanding (although I do not know exactly what that translates to).

HelpOthers The government's portion for a full-time employee is more than what the employee pays. However, If you are employed 50% (0.5), you get 50% of the government's portion.
