A few weeks ago 3 of my co-workers were interviewed for the same position (local hire). One does not have a masters degree. I have a masters degree and did not receive any requests for interviews. Does dodea not care about degrees? I don't mean to be rude but I'm trying to wrap my head around why I haven't been called. I received a referral notice but no interview requests. To top it off this co worker of mine has had 3 interviews so far and I have yet to land one. Any insight or advice?
Snow Lane I do think they care about degrees, but ultimately, it's the interviewer's decision. When you end up on a referral list, the school administrators get your resumes and select who to interview. It depends on what they're looking for. Maybe your colleague had something on their resume that stood out to them as what they needed at their school.

haha Agree. The principal has a lot of discretion with local hires. Often they interview/choose people they are already familiar with/like or who they think will fit in best or balance a team. It's a bold move but maybe make an appt. with the principal(s) and ask what you can do to increase your chances for future openings.

Cmc I feel your frustration. I'm a local applicant and have not been able to land an offer. I interviewed last year, not selected. This year, made the referral list, did not interview, a stateside candidate was hired. We're leaving next year so maybe I'll have better luck elsewhere.
