So, a couple of questions and something to share:

Q1. What advice can you give us about moving to DDESS? Is there anything that we should know in order to make the move go more smoothly?

We are having HHG shipped to our HOR and have requested the car go to the VPC closest to the new duty station.

Q2. Any thoughts on us being made to reimburse RAT since we won't be here another year?

To share: I will lose this year of service in terms of salary lane because I will not have served 150 days. Additionally, I go backwards in lane as my MA+30 is not honored in DDESS as it was here, specifically that the +30 must be attained after the MA if under the DDESS umbrella.

IsItFriday? HR will probably mess up your leave. As you are an older teacher, you may have built up a substantial amount of leave. There's a good chance that the leave number on your Dodds LES won't be reflected properly properly on your first LES from Ddess, or your second, or your third....

DDESSHopeful Icanread--I just went through the process so this is how it went. DDESS gave me 100% of the years with DoDDS, except for the year I entered in January and the year I am in now. Neither of those--the first half year and the one I am in now--meets the 150 day measurement mark for "a year" in the eyes of DDESS. They then sent me a form to give to the ...See More
