Yes Haha, the CHRA HR staff member broke it down for me year by year and said the max credit is 10 years, and I'm working in my 11th year now but won't be put in step 11 until the full 11th year is finished. It's very frustrating and doesn't make any sense.

So, if you had 9 years of experience credit, and they added that to Step 1 (there is no step 0 that I am aware of), wouldn't you be on the same step you are now?

PS- That definitely seems wrong and contrary to everything I have seen, heard and read. I would keep fighting, submit pay inquiries, go through the union, Bill Freeman, etc. It would be stressful, but so is the feeling that you are being robbed of several thousand dollars per year. CHRA is new to this and may have misinterpreted something. When overseas, your pay is tied to the pay determined in the spring. So you start with last year's pay and in the spring when the accurate pay is determined, you get a pay increase all in one pay check, then for the remainder of that school-year.
