Hi-There Teachers!

How are ya? As I sit here and cry over my glass of wine and stack of essays I have to read, I received an update on my application. I applied for several positions, due to either my experience in those teaching roles or degrees and course work. To preface I have the following qualifications;

1. Texas Education license for Core Subjects 4-8.with and ESL Supplement

2. Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry

3. Masters in Educational Studies: Secondary with a concentration in English

4. TEFL/TESOL License

Experience:

1. 2 years teaching ESL

2. 2 years teaching 8th-grade ELA-Used TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills Curriculum)

3. 2 years teaching 6th-grade homeroom (math, science, reading, writing, technology, and cultural studies). The international schools in Asia require 6th graders to stay in homeroom. Subject teachers are for 7th grade and above. We used CCSS.

They do not have to be graduate credits (although those often help to increase salary lanes) but some upper level bachelors credits are...See More

Shawna11 @Haha Can we take courses at a community college?

haha Yes. Just check the requirements of the position/subject you are trying to qualify in as some have requirements for a certain amount of "upper level" credits, which generally would not be community college level (upper level are usually listed as 300/400 classes).
