With PCS moves at a standstill and a hiring freeze in effect, it seems that many openings would come from retirees. I don't knwo of any DODD teachers who just leave/resign because they WANT to stop working/return to public school (understandably).

It seems like there is so much up in the air, and I can't help but think that I probably chose the worst year/time to finally complete an application LOL.

Couple of Questions As the others said, plenty of people leave and do not wait around to retire. Some return to the US to normal teaching positions, others (we have at least 2 here) are leaving for DDESS positions in the states. And then again, not all retirees would want to return to work. IsItFriday? Every year, DODDS gets a little smaller, and they hire a little less. But they are still in business, for the moment.

Missamy I didn't know that they only hired 200 personal per year? I feel really discouraged. I'm working on adding to my qualifiations. I'll be certified to teach in 6 areas come June. Is there anyone who wants to talk to me over the phone?

HelpOthers @Missamy, if you want to communicate privately with individuals, you may want to go to the FB page and request there, due to the messenger capability. https://www.facebook.com/groups/538804653677909

MsU We are all in fact tiny needles in a giant haystack. Better to be like the military child and bloom wherever we are planted. Adopting the attitude has helped me so much as a human and a professional. Of course easier said then done when you get a referral or even more so an interview!
