Is it ever a bad idea to contact a principal?

I was referred for a school that is by far our first choice because we have a strong established connection to the area already (UK). Its been 3 weeks, I feel at this point I have nothing to lose. It honestly feels strange not to because any other job you absolutely would reach out to introduce yourself.

haha Opinions/experiences are definitely mixed on the idea of reaching out to principals. Some people feel that it helped them, some people feel that it hurt them/may hurt you, by being seen as inappropriate or pushy in some way. I guess in reality it's impossible to know what affect (if any) it has in the end.

Teach I would not contact administrators- this has gotten individuals barred from interviews. With that being said, if you decide to- use the email principal feature on the school website, not their direct DoDEA email address. MsU Well I did it, I used the school email and I think it was a very polite hopeful non pushy email, lol. I am a bit of a gambler at heart! And we have decided that we are going to pursue some of the other leads we have in the area regardless (international and private schools and fed jobs).
