I saw a few postings for a School Liaison Officer on USAjobs. I read the job description and it seems like something that would be in my line of experience. Despite it being open to the public it seems like they are looking for someone who has a knowledge of Navy policies and culture. The application questions I was required to answer were very military specific. So although I have experience in my current role completing many of those functions I answered no because I have never been in the Navy.

Would someone outside of the military world be able to adapt to this role fairly quickly? Or is this a role typically reserved for someone with a military background?
haha It often seems to go to a military spouse or former military in my narrow experience. They would likely want someone who can be knowledgeable/empathetic bridge between the school and the military community. Sometimes more knowledge and experience in one sector can make up for a lack in the other. It can't hurt to apply.
