Is it a new requirement to fill out EFMP paperwork?

Written in tentative offer:

You must complete the attached DoDEA Exceptional Family Member Program Information Sheet to identify if you have dependents with special needs. At a later time you may be asked to complete a DD Form 2792-1 for each family member with special needs for DoDEA to assess the availability of services. If you have a child with special needs, the DD Form 2792-1 must be completed if you intend to enroll your child in a school funded by the DoD or a school in which DoD is responsible for paying the tuition for a space-required family member.

RJ Must be new. Trust me it's a good thing. Some people PCS with their special needs kids and later realize that services aren't available, are really hard to obtain, or are provided locally by the foreign medical system which some are not comfortable with.

haha It is new. You used to have to just fill out a simple form answering a question about whether anyone had special needs and describing what those needs were. Civilians were not required to enroll in EFMP, mainly because we are not eligible for most of the benefits. Apparently they are officially tracking civilians through that program now.

ecd5 I was surprised. I thought maybe it was a mistake since CHRA took over the hiring process.

HelpOthers Wow, civilians have not been part of the EFMP process, so with CHRA handling the HR stuff now (military organization) maybe it will now be included...
