Generally in an area like Germany, is it a better idea to buy or rent a house? WIth the new restrictions on POQ within town not being rentable, and the ten year/10 % limits and the must buy a house within a year restrictions, it seems like a better value to rent.

Thoughts?

But I think nobody has provided a reference, because none of the "new restrictions" have taken place. They are not official, have not been enacted, and are not in the current, enforceable, regulations.

haha Theses rules (or possibly their interpretation) are actually quite new. Up until maybe two/three years ago, they were still evaluating LQA benefits for non-CONUS hires based on factors other than physical presence in the US for the recruitment policy.
