Good morning everyone. So I just got an interview for a DODEA school over in Japan. So I have a few questions if anyone can help? Generally, what is the pay for a special education teacher with their Masters's over there? How does the COLA work? How easy is it to get your dogs over there with you? Even though I have received an interview request I just had these burning questions before I accept the interview. Any advice or thoughts at all would be greatly appreciated.

Jay Thank you, if everyone starts on step 1, but you have 5 years of experience does that mean you start in the low 50's?

haha Sorry if I misspoke or was unclear. With no credited experience, you would start on Step 1. So, with 5 years of credited experience you would start on Step 6 (1+5). With a Masters at Step 6 under the newly approved Scale that would be $66,830.

Jay Thank you so much. I received another interview request from South Korea. I am wondering how the pay is there and if you receive COLA etc. I am thinking the USD goes much further.

How far the $ goes varies a fair amount based on the location currency against the $. The last year or so has been excellent in Japan with the dollar being at near records h...See More
