I stumbled upon this group while looking for some DOD information. I had an interview 2 weeks ago for Ft. Knox HS. I was told I would receive a yay or nay withing 2 weeks. Is this a realistic timeline or should I keep waiting? I do need to let my current school know and possibly plan for travel. I'm very antsy over here :)
hahaTwo weeks is fairly typical to hear whether you are getting an offer. It generally takes longer to hear if you did not get selected. When in doubt, call or write the principal and just ask.
BettIt took around three weeks for my offer, and a friend waited a month to get his. So, as with everything it all depends on what's going on at the school, HR, etc. The wait is hard, and then you continue through steps and more waiting time.
Is there a difference between the passports that federal employees and their dependants acquire when moving overseas and a travel passport that a citizen acquires through the state department?
I have now received 8 referrals for Ft. Jackson and have not heard anything about an interview. Does anyone know what the situation is there? Have they done interviews already? Is there an actual need, or could this be a fluke? Thanks in advance!
TeachIt does not show on your application. I can still access my application although I received an email that it was inactive on April 23 (and have been hired for a position).
Snow LaneIt varies for everyone. Some took 3 weeks between tentative and firm. Mine took closer to 6 weeks. So, between 3 to 6 weeks would be a good guess.
We had to purchase our ticket to...See MoreI still don't have a pack out date, but we have travel! I dropped off the packing paperwork today and was told I'd hear soon from the office or the moving company with actual dates.
As for travel, we were put on the Patriot Express flight for August 3rd, so we'll be flying from Seattle to Yokota.
We had to purchase our ticket to Seattle and were told it would be part of the reimbursement, along with any baggage fees.
I figured I'd keep everyone up to date since I know I feel like I'm just blindly moving forward!
I bounced a check in 2003, and the local grocery store issued a warrant for my arrest (it was $14!) and subsequently I had to pay a huge fine. It now appears as "fraud" on my background checks.
Will this keep me from getting an offer from DODEA?
BentobethUnfortunately, I was 20 and had recently left my abusive husband and did NOT get the notification that it bounced until I got a call from the Sheriff! Yikes.
If your account is marked as Inactive, who is the next person to contact you? Is it HR? Or the principal of the school? How long does it take to be contacted after the account is Inactive?
