I stumbled upon this group while looking for some DOD information. I had an interview 2 weeks ago for Ft. Knox HS. I was told I would receive a yay or nay withing 2 weeks. Is this a realistic timeline or should I keep waiting? I do need to let my current school know and possibly plan for travel. I'm very antsy over here :)

Two weeks is fairly typical to hear whether you are getting an offer. It generally takes longer to hear if you did not get selected. When in doubt, call or write the principal and just ask.

It took around three weeks for my offer, and a friend waited a month to get his. So, as with everything it all depends on what's going on at the school, HR, etc. The wait is hard, and then you continue through steps and more waiting time.

Maybe it is because you're for a different country or because of your situation or because of you have a different person handling your process. I don't know. My firm offer did include the salary. Someone on a different post pointed out that our Dependents receive a blue official passport that looks on the outside exactly like the tourist one. However, on page 15 or so, there is a stamp stating that they are there for official reasons. Make sure they use the correct passport. I have now received 8 referrals for Ft. Jackson and have not heard anything about an interview. Does anyone know what the situation is there? Have they done interviews already? Is there an actual need, or could this be a fluke? Thanks in advance!

There is not a general time frame. It varies for everyone. Some took 3 weeks between tentative and firm. Mine took closer to 6 weeks. So, between 3 to 6 weeks would be a good guess.

We were able to do everything via phone, email and website (and had bases within an hour's drive of us).
