If you were placed on a referral list, ( I know it's still a long shot) is it okay/good idea to contact the principal to express one's interest? Thanks!
hahaThere have been mixed opinions about contacting principals. Many people feel it won't do any good and could do some harm if it annoys the principal in some way.
Lately I've come to feel it is not likely to do any significant harm and if it can help at all then it is probably worth doing to try and land that all important interview.
happyteacherThe good news is, there will likely be a couple 0420-0422 vacancies in Japan/Korea/Guam/Cuba and your experience with moderate/severe will set you apart from some of the other candidates.
Regarding interviews...what are those 7 questions they ask? I just did this last year but other than differentiation and why one wants to do this, can't recall the other questions. Anyone remember them??
Hi all, I've been lurking for a while but thought i'd say hey. I put in my application in January for anything pk-3rd. I got an email about a referral list for a K position in Daegu. I'm crossing my fingers that my PK/K endorsement will work in my favor here.
EuxpatSome bases also provide auto and wood hobby shops. These shops are well equipped with tools, machines, and qualified staff who run them. But bring your own wood and car parts!
No access is provided on DDESS bases, except to the food courts.
Yes, generally the dependents of teachers attend base schools if they choose to send them there. I have known some teachers who send their children to local schools.
IcanreadWe don't have to pay to send them to base schools, right? My husband said he read that we have to pay tuition. Just want to make sure I make the right decision!
hahaNo. Sponsored CONUS hire teachers (and many contractors) do not have to pay and automatically have the right to send their children to the base school.
It means that you are on a list as a candidate for a specific position. A principal will generally use that list to select around 5 people to interview. So, an email or phone call for an email may be next (or nothing may be next).
IcanreadLindaloo, read the post called Referral List from March 4th. The comments have more info regarding receiving calls for interviews. I'd recommend answering all calls (which is what I plan to do, except when I'm teaching!)
