Hmmmm, when I applied there wasn't a list of cities to interview in. I just updated my application and there was no mention about cities.

With DoDEA overseas schools interviews are always by telephone. Did you (the OP) apply for stateside or overseas? In general I don't think that it really matters whether you interview face to face or in person since most admin types will be used to interviewing prospective candidates by phone.

Although DoDEA shares some of the same letters with the DOE, we are not actually a part of the Dept. of Education. We are under the Dept. of Defense which he supposedly likes.

I'm not 100% up on the hiring process for the stateside schools but I was under the impression that the interview process was the as it is for overseas: You apply, you get a referral notice and then may or may not get a call/email from a principal for a specific job opening at a specific school. the waiting all depends on qualifications, and even then you can never be sure. some teachers who can do all the SPED can go years without hearing anything, while others get hired right away. for example, i have middle and high school science (no AP, but all the sciences). I think it is possible. Money could run out or there could be positions for which there was no match for an applicants certs AND location choice. I've never seen a list go out after the transfer round showing unfilled positions but you never know. Gotcha, makes sense. There was a EI/LIMS and PreSchool Disabled/EI combo I was curious about. ANother was a sped combo with Speech and a SPED combo with I think HI. I wonder if those numbers will change?
