When working with DoDEA on asking them to re-evaluate a determination of "Not Qualified" - is it possible to email someone at DoDEA about followup questions and clarification, or must it all be done through the application/quals process?

I was VERY skeptical about this and figured i was out of the running for the year, however HR was spot on. I received a referral notification and HR re-evaluated my certs same day. Next day i got a call from the principal and received a tentative offer the following day.
so excited and i hope i get my official packet of paperwork today!

For most of DoDDS, this is Tuesday Aug 23 this coming school year; a few schools have non-standard calendars so confirm with your new school/principal. When at TMO/PPD arranging your travel, specifcially ask for your preferred travel date or preferred travel date range; you can anticipate that you'll be authorized to travel on the gov't's dime up to about a week prior to official Reporting Date; there is wiggle room either way as constrained, usually, by the available flights. Family members who are on your orders may travel with you or if preferred may travel later than you, but not later than a year after you travel; if family members miss this one year window, then they will have to wait to travel on the gov't's dime until your first RAT eligibility a year or two years away, possibly three years if you arrive too late and depending on whether the school is a one year or two year RAT area. TQSA is the allowance that reimburses for expenses for you and family for temporary lodging and meals and laundry/dry-cleaning while you are seeking your permanent accommodations; you apply for TQSA reimbursments via the DAPS webapp once at your location. When your permanent housing is moved into, you apply at DAPS for LQA. Your salary will start as of the Reporting Date if you are there, or, if arriving later, salary starts on the actual date you arrive; try your hardest to not be any later than the 8th day of teaching students because if later than that then you will *NOT* receive credit for the entire school year for your future RAT - in practical terms: if arriving later than the 8th teaching day and assigned to a one year RAT area then you'd have to teach *two* school years before RAT eligibility or, if assigned to a two year area then you'd have to teach *three* school years prior to RAT eligibility.
