I am planning to hold my first parent meeting this fall. I facilitate K-8 TAG, with formal identification for grades 3-8. I don't want to overwhelm parents and have some ideas for meeting content (explain identification, enrichment, social/emotional needs) but would appreciate ideas for an engaging and interesting meeting that will hopefully "hook" the parents. Thank you!

As PP mentioned,unless its a general meeting for ALL parents, skip the identification process stuff. Their kid is already ID'd, so why go over a moot point?

Nancye I agree with Janette. The parents are there to find out what is going to be happening in your class this year. Stick to that. Tell about your units, field trips, and other upcoming activities. lbp If you are going to give them a list of school enrichment ideas, also consider giving them a list of things that are not school realated. ALot of parents realize that what the school can offer their children is pretty limited and are looking for ways outside of school to enrich their children themselves.
