I would have to suggest going to Columbia University's Teachers College. Dr. Borland is really one of the best in the field and the degree program, while not cheap, is very informative and practical. The most useful part of the program is the connections to top G & T schools in New York City for really great hands on experiences in the field during student teaching. I have found this degree probably my most useful. I would not suggest online programs because a huge component of a degree of this nature is the relationships you form with your professors, connections, and the student teaching experiences. I found Lisa Wright's curriculum classes particularly useful. In addition, Borland's lectures are pretty much the best I've ever attended at Columbia. I would highly recommend this program as a way to open doors for your career. While housing can be tricky, their is graduate housing at great rates in Whittier Hall and the Bayit at Columbia University accept graduate students as well.
