Hi, I teach first grade in a small private school. There is a maximum of 16 students in a class. This year, I will have a student in my class who has been tested at approximately the 99th percentile, particularly strong in languages, but also advanced in math. We have no special program at our school for gifted children. I have told his parents that I will challenge him within the class. I have a few ideas, but would be glad of any advice others can give me. Thank you for your help.

diana Thank you both. There is a lot of information on the Hoagies site, and I'm still working my way through it. I know that he was reading Harry Potter and Bunnicula this summer, so I'll go from there... Diana
