Hello all,
I have read several of the earlier posts concerning the
homeschool vs. P.S. debate and I would like to offer my 2
cents worth. Particularly, I would like to explain why my
family has chosen to homeschool, and perhaps educate
readers here as to what may motivate the average
homeschooler to exercise this choice.

Background
I have a B.A. in biblical and theological studies, a
minor in history, and some graduate classes in software
systems. My father was a teacher, first in a Catholic prep
school and then at a community college. My wife is a high
school graduate. Her parents have a minimal amount of post-
secondary education.
We have a 7 year old daughter and are part of a Catholic
church where homeschooling is strongly encouraged. There
are 200+ children who are homeschooled and there are
multiple large active homeschooling co-ops at the church.
