I am a new teacher and came across Illinois SB 277 dealing with reducing the number
of years of employment required for tenure. Reading through
the bill, it sounds to be that it applies to those who were
full-time teachers prior to January 1, 1998, and after the
date of the bill passage (if it passes). I'm wondering why
it doesn't apply to teachers who are hired in the period
between those dates? Or am I reading it wrong? Thanks.
