I grew up in China in the culture revolution time, it was
religion free time. The communist party goverment did not
allow Chinese people believe in any super being, they
wanted you only believe in them. Now days, in China,
although the Chinese government allows certain degree of
freedom in religion practice, the majority Chinese do not
have religion faith, they only worship money.

The reality is without faith in GOD, there is no absolute
moral value, everything is relative. When you live in an
enviroment that if you do not betray your friends or your
relatives, you die or spend your entire life in jail; when
selling your soul or body become an acceptable "value",
you will betray, and you will sell. It is true that if
there is no God, people basically can do anything they
want including murder, stealing, adultery as long as NO
