I am a current long-term sub in a 6th grade class. I most
likely will work until the end of the school year. The
position I am subbing for is open next year b/c the
teacher is retiring.

I applied for the position (as well as 4 others) and
received a letter saying I "am not recommended for the
position." I am FULLY qualified under NCLB standards, I
got my credential from a highly esteemed university, and,
well, I am currently working in the job being offered! I
feel I was for some reason treated unfairly since I was
denied even a chance at the position or any position for
that matter. How can I "fight for my right" ? ? ? and
maybe get a chance? ? ?

yeah CA is trying to do the same thing but secretly! But they
also claim NCLB will NOT let hiring of people without a FULL
credential happen. But then they just "happen" to hire long-
term subs instead and claim "there were no job applicants so we
had to". when in reality over 1,000 people apply!
