Our school is starting an iPad 1 to 1 program this fall - we are a K-8 Catholic school, and the ipads will be in grades 6th - 8th.
I'd love it if any of you had any questions, suggestions or ideas for our program - in terms of apps or lesson plans or anything at all that would help our pilot program become a success. We're flying by the seat of our pants and hope to harness some of your expertise with Tech and your curiosities to help us along.
Every now and then the isight green light comes on for a few seconds, then goes off. Since none of the apps that use it are open, why would it be just automatically flashing on? Mine is a school-owned computer, so I am not the administrator. I wouldn't want to think someone was trying to watch me! So, what is going on and how do I stop it?
I am trying to make a table in iwork Pages. I would like to be able to create it without having to readjust the font and its size within each cell. How do I do that? Thanks so much! Jan
I want to figure out the steps to use a Promethean board and the Activevote student devices to create a paperless test that is taken as a class or small group. The data for each student is recorded in a gradebook format that I can import to my electric gradebook for my electric report card. (Whew!)
Or was this possibility just a dream I have? Your input will be appreciated.
I recently purchased a MacBook Pro running 10.5.4. When I had a Macbook running Leopard, I was using Quicktime Pro which worked really well when editing. I'd like to use that version of Quicktime instead of the Quicktime X on my new MacBook. Is that possible?

Also who can save what and where,...See MoreThat allows you to set up very fine grain control groups like staff, student, (guest/substitute) and even grant or dissallow access to individual applications by sets of machines (e.g. a student can use Garageband on the music room computer, or in the computer lab but not in the library or English rooms).
Also who can save what and where, and solve other user abuse.
I would like to view other teacher's classroom rules for usage of Technology (camera, computers, video cameras, etc.). I am looking for a generic type of list - since there are so many different pieces of technology available for the students to use.
I have a mac computer lab running leopard on macbooks. When students log into word 2004 or 2008 it seems to take at least 5 minutes to get to the application. I was wondering if others have the same issue. I'm also wondering f there is another word processing program that works better on the macbooks. Thanks for your help.

I was wondering if anyone has experience using Pages from iWorks with students in grades 3 - 6? I purchased a single copy but was considering getting a site license since it seems easier to use than Word. I'd appreciate feedback from other users.
