Just upgraded to Snow Leopard. isight light keeps coming on

by intermittently for no reason. Why?

Every now and then the isight green light comes on for a few seconds, then goes off. Since none of the apps that use it are open, why would it be just automatically flashing on? Mine is a school-owned computer, so I am not the administrator. I wouldn't want to think someone was trying to watch me! So, what is going on and how do I stop it?

Neal Only they would have the means to fix it, and yes someone could be accessing your machine remotely.

Going Paperless ( or just less paper)

Quicktime Pro

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro running 10.5.4. When I had a Macbook running Leopard, I was using Quicktime Pro which worked really well when editing. I'd like to use that version of Quicktime instead of the Quicktime X on my new MacBook. Is that possible?

Laura I found the answer to my question. Quicktime 7 is on the install disk.

Neal That allows you to set up very fine grain control groups like staff, student, (guest/substitute) and even grant or dissallow access to individual applications by sets of machines (e.g. a student can use Garageband on the music room computer, or in the computer lab but not in the library or English rooms).

Using Word with Macbooks

I have a mac computer lab running leopard on macbooks. When students log into word 2004 or 2008 it seems to take at least 5 minutes to get to the application. I was wondering if others have the same issue. I'm also wondering f there is another word processing program that works better on the macbooks. Thanks for your help.

I was wondering if anyone has experience using Pages from iWorks with students in grades 3 - 6? I purchased a single copy but was considering getting a site license since it seems easier to use than Word. I'd appreciate feedback from other users.
