I have Word 2008 for Mac and I have clip art in the Object palette. If you can't see it choose it from the View menu and there should be clip art available.
I am searching some articles, academic references or experiment results which support the use of technology in K-12 education and more particularly using technology to teach science. How the iPad can be used as an electronic textbook ? Do you have some articles, informations to share ?

We are seeking to hire a programmer with ipad/iphone application development experience to help us develop an innovative and highly interactive textbook that teaches physics and astronomy. It is an exciting project!

ROXIOS Toast™ has CD Spin Doctor you can use something like Audacity, Audio Recorder, AudioRefurb 3 but that's less intuitive, so it requires more work.
You might convert the tapes to mp3 files, then decide to load them to CD or to cheap thumb dirves for mp3 players.
There are copyright concerns you can convert old media to a form that the vendor doesn't offer, but if they offer CD or mp3 you're crossing that line. . . be careful.
~Cher~Thanks Neal, I didn't want to have to use my voice to do it. Maybe I will look on line for the cd's of the stories except I have so many books on tape it would be mindboggling
I'm seeking for teachers' opinion regarding the use of Technology in K-12 education.
If you had to teach through an electronic textbook with devices such as an iPad, what will be your expectations, your needs ? What would you need to make this work ? What would make the iPad a terrific tool for you ?
If you have any ideas or suggestions, share them and let's talk about it !
I'm wondering about iPads. My district is considering a 1:1 program and is looking @ iPads as one of their choices. I don't know anything about them. My students (4&5) use the internet a lot to supplement their curriculum (lots of flash sites - will the apps cover them??) and I really don't know if iPad in the elementary for students is a good choice or not. Could I have your opinions? Any input would be helpful for my background knowledge. Thanks!

Good Lu...See Morethe show all file name extensions Whatever file your browser downloads (depending on whatever browser you use) must end with a .cil extension if it's there just double click the file and it should be added to your clip-art library. If it's not there change the ending to .cil double click the file and the same thing should happen.
Good Luck, N.

I had to shut down the computer because P.G.&E. was conducting a test in the area of my school and shut down the power for 20 minutes. When this window of time began, my flat panel was already safely turned off.
When I restarted the computer, the DVD/CD played fine, but there was no sound coming out of the computer. I shut down again, removed the external player, restarted the computer and the sound was fine. So... when the player is attached, no sound is produced. Any advice as to the direction I should turn in now? Thank you so much for your help.
That was strange. When I plugged the device in again, the sound worked. Earlier, I had checked on sound preferences, and the "alert" sounds played, but it wasn't until just now that I re-inserted the player, then the DVD into it that I played it and it worked. I hope this is not just a fluke. Thank you so much for your time
I have a MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 My problem is that I have several photos in the iphoto trash but every time that I try to delete them the program crashes. I think that I am nearly out of memory and need to empty the trash, but I'm not sure how if it keeps crashing. Thanks for any suggestions.
LauraThank you so much, Neal! Your suggestions worked and the iphoto trash emptied without a problem! I really appreciated your help! deleted from the internal memory of a digital camera (not from an SD card)? I just deleted about 3 months worth of photos of my class! I am usually so careful, but I blew it this time. Please help.
You would need recovery software and a way to access that data.
Photorescue used to be free, now I see it is not. I have used it and the free version worked well.
Good Luck,
