I am temporarily living in a home where there are three other adults. I am the only one online BUT two of the others don't have their own phones and "hog" the house phone all the time. I don't have a phone hookup in my bedroom. I ran a phone cable from the kitchen to my bedroom. It works fine when I am online.
My question is this:
When I am not online, must I pull the connection out of the three "prong" thing plugged in at the kitchen? My roomies say they can't use the phone if it is "plugged" in. When I lived by myself, I had the connection hooked up all the time BUT if I was not signed on, I could use my phone in the kitchen where it was hooked with. I don't get it. IF I am right, can yu direct me to an online answer for it so I can print and show them? If I am wrong, then I will know. None of the other roomies have a computer or know anything about them.

These days many classrooms have multiple computers. While technology provides great opportunities for students to learn, how do you find the balance between technology based learning and traditional classroom teaching? How much technology is too much?
As long as the technology is in support or aid of some part of the curricula it is appropriate.
Using technology instead of teaching main content is wrong. Sort of like showing a video every Friday afternoon.
e.g. letting students "use" the computer but having no guide or purpose is not appropriate... they'll just do games on java sites.

I'm trying to create a self-contained powerpoint presentation. I want to narrate the slides. If I make a mistake on say, slide 3, is there any way to fix just that slide without starting over everytime.? It appears that every slide before the slide I am trying to fix gets erased. Thanks for suggestions.
Could you saveas or export it as a movie? If it's going to autorun in a kiosk mode anyway you could also save the movie to "loop".
Otherwise if the different computer has a different version of PPT, or less RAM slower Processor or if you trying to run it from the CD that could cause the behavior you're seeing.
Copy it to the HD of the computer you want to run it from... check the compatibility of PPT apps.

You have saved the day for me! I saved the powerpoint as a movie, and it works like a charm. I never would have known to do this. THANK YOU!!!!

I tried to use the shift+apple+4+ + that works in os X to take pictures of part of my screen but that formula doesn't work in 0S 9. I am trying to assemble directions for our staff and I need those screen shots to illustrate what I am telling them to do.

I need to use Safari to support what I am doing on a blog. I cannot figure out, using Safari, how to make clickable links on blog--spot (google) with a MAC computer. I was totally lost using their directions in the help center.

Well...did they inform you of this prior to the re-imaging? I am afraid if you haven't backed it up it is gone. I would talk to the techies who did this, perhaps they made an archive of your stuff (but I doubt it). Do you network space to store files such as this? If so, in the future-use it since hard drives can go, re-imaging can happen, etc. Sorry for your loss of data.

slight disability. I used my school email addy for the "sign in" info and had to pick a password. Just wondered if I should leave it as is and hope that I get no emails, or if I could really really just unsubscribe from it.
I have a separate gmail account (not linked to my school email addy) so I wanted to unsubscribe to just the calendar.
Oh well... I guess we'll see what happens.
Thanks for the response!
