ShaggyMac is offering new screen protectors for the all-new MacBook Air.
Lancaster, PA – February 11, 2008 - ShaggyMac is offering new screen protectors for the all-new MacBook Air. Designed specifically for the MacBook Air, the ShaggyMac screen protector cushions the display when the lid is closed, preventing common marks and scuffs. The screen protector is made from a super slim version of ShaggyMac's T-Micro material, expressly designed for the world’s thinnest notebook. Screen protectors for the MacBook Air are priced at $12.95.
I accidently made HP Edit as edit preference and now cannot get my iPhoto pics to open up in Photoshop. I can slide the pics down to the bar but I want them to also open up when I click. I tried preferences but it no longer gives me the Photoshop option. How do I change this back?
This semester I started working with CS 3 extensively and have noticed an issue with the Mac OS. I use Photoshop at home on a PC an never have these types of problems.
Anyway, I have my students working on tutorials. Some kids just blast through them, and then once in awhile a kid starts having problems. I will start with a new workspace and work through the tutorial and find that I have the same problem. I have four classes of about 25 students working on PS a day, and each class we run into these strange problems 2-10 times a day.
I have found that to correct these problems, and this works about 95 percent of the time, I need to erase the preferences for the application.
To do this it is crucial to FIRST close the application. Then go into the users directory, the library, preferences, and then find the preferences for the specific application. Select all of these preferences and trash them. Now fire up the application and things should be good.
Point is, you may want to try getting rid of your HP preferences if the suggested fix does not work. But, first try getting rid of the Photoshop prefs, then the HP. I am not sure why this is happening. Is is due to the OS? The hardware? I do have a Gig of RAM on each machine running OS 10.4 Or, is it due to some bug in CS?
I just recently bought a mac laptop in order to get some work done at home. I was wondering if anyone out there could recommend a grading software program.

Know you have probably discussed this a million, billion times, but I have just discovered this board.
We have recently received MACs in our school. We use Pages as Word Processor program. How the heck do you make labels. I am not talking about labels with adresses, I am talking about custom labels. The kind that say, "No School Tomorrow" and I want to print 30 of them.

Not sure if these templates will help. Give 'em a try.
With a site/building license you are not paying for CD's as you make them or do image installs. This saves time and money.
You should know how many machines you anticipate installing on (allow for adding new machines) and talk to your local M$ supplier.
Visit the link and see if your district is part of a consortium.

I'm not sure if this question has come up, but on the new iMac, is anyone having a problem with Acrobat quitting unexpectedly when attempting to print a pdf document? This happens almost every time!
My second question is can I use my iMac also as a regular tv? I have digital cable. I need the simplest directions you can give me. You won't insult my intelligence. :o) Lastly, referring to the cost of any program or hardware I might need, would it be worth it---should I just buy a new tv set instead (my old one died)?
Everything is updated and it is with different pdf documents.
It sound like a new tv is what I need to go with. I didn't realize you couldn't do both. I assumed it would be like watching a DVD while you work on your computer.
Thanks again!

It could be like that. It wouldn't have to be full screen. You can have one window open I am sure. If you'd like that, go for it.
Has anyone used the Shuffle in an elementary classroom? If so how effective was it? Was the Shuffle easy to access? I know that the Nano would probably work better, but it is three times more expensive!! Help!
The problem in using a shuffle in a classroom is that there is practically no way to determine what will play when unless there is only one file on the ipod.

This is not true...if you create a playlist, the songs will play in the order of the playlist. However, I agree that it's much better to purchase a nano.
(I apologize if I am asking this question in the wrong forum. If I am, perhaps someone would be kind enough to tell me where I should post it, please.)
Last week my MacBook crashed and I lost everything. (Yes, I have learned my lesson and I promise to do regular back-ups from now on!)
I now have a new hard drive, but none of the itunes music I had bought, or podcasts that I had downloaded from various internet sites. I hadn't downloaded them onto an ipod or anything. I just use the laptop. So...is there any way that I can rettrieve them via itunes, please? If so, how do I do it? If you can simply direct me to an appropriate web site, that would be fine. I have tried searching, but most of the sites I found seemed to deal with transferring to a new computer when you still had the old one, or transferring from an ipod to the computer or vice verse.
I'd be most grateful for any advice you are able to give me. Mattie
On my new imac I recently updated to Safari 3.1. Ever since then whenever I try to open pdf files online (I have Acrobat 8.0), most of them open to only an Adobe icon in the middle of the page. Are the two events related or coincidence? What is the problem and solution?

When you installed Acrobat it probably installed its pdf plug-in. I don't like Adobe's reader so I just removed the plug-in. To remove, just delete the file "AdobePDFViewer. plugin" (extra space to ensure FBI won't check my response) from the folder /Library/Internet Plug-ins. If you're not comfortable with deleting it, just move it to another place and restart Safari and go to a website with a pdf to see if it works.
Thank you so much! There seems to be a big buzz about missing plug-ins. What is going on?
Thanks again! Jan/K

I have a G4 mac, 10.4 system, 512 MB SDRAM. Hubby is retiring at the end of the year and wants to get a laptop and along with his new toy he wants to go with wireless cable internet provider. Is there a cheap way for me to "make" my computer wireless compatible since it still works for me, or is it time to go shopping? I've looked at AfterMac and the usb adaptors. Thanks for your help.

If you already have dsl then it is more than likely connected to your computer via an ethernet connection. In order to add a wireless computer to your network you will need a wireless router (be it an Apple Airport one or other cheaper brand-it does NOT have to be an Apple brand for it to work).
Here is how it works: Now you have a dsl modem which is directly connected to your computer (I assume). If you purchase a wireless router it will be connected to your dsl modem and your old computer will be connected to the router. A wireless equipped computer can then connect to the router and thus connect to the net. The router acts as a bridge from your computers to your dsl connection so you can add as many computers as the router allows to connect to the internet.
