I do not allow they to use any copyrighted images at all. Creativity is 20% of their grade, Cooperation is another 20%, and if the guidelines set by the Art teacher is not to use them, they are not cooperating with the teacher. Therefore the highest beginning percent they can earn is 60% D-, if all other criteria for the project is met perfectly.

I have my second graders do a stained glass cornucopia full of harvested food...great for Thanksgiving also.
