so I often show movies to help get art history across. Yes I know not every child is going to love them, but I am so tired of hearing students ask in the middle of the movie when is this over? Is it almost over? Any suggestions??

Kind of like, "When are we going to do ART?" when we're in the middle of a class discussion about almost anything....
Haven't taught middle school art in 2 years and looking for some opening art lessons, refresher projects, ideas to go through rules and procedures for the first week.
KariYou might get some useful ideas from my class website: mswilsonsartroom.blogspot.com. I teach grades 7 & 8 and this is my whole 9 week curriculum with links to resources, lesson activities etc. Hope this helps! Kari
Do you think that a finished, recognizable art product is necessary to present of what children have learned, for both the children's families and the school administrators in kindergartens.
There is always a need for process in all art educational levels. You can work toward products if that is your goal. However even examples of learning about process to demonstrate various techniques or concept is certainly acceptable.
I'm just wondering if anyone here has any experience with this type of schedule and any advice in terms of management of projects, etc. I'm not worried about the kids, I'm worried about storage of projects and juggling types of projects so that I don't wind up with 900 wet, gluey masterpieces.
Love being art teacher but creditors would love me to make more. Looking for ideas that other art teachers have done outside of school for real extra money which have been rewarding creatively also. I would love to hear from you!
Betty AnnWould you be good at painting murals in children's rooms?
