I am interested in ordering an assortment of movies/videos/dvds to have on hand in my class (elementary) so that when I am in a pinch I can throw one on.

I used to have my graphic design students start with a template file for a two piece articulated skull and decorate/design it in Adobe Illustrator. They could then print it out and assemble it.
My ceramics classes made mini jack-o-lantern tea light holders or could opt to make miniature sugar skull/calaveras skull tea light holders (lids required).
My intro art students were assigned drawings on grey or black papers using only white pencils to make images of bones and skulls. Of course they had to make a value scale first. :)
I teach high school Art, and I use the NYC Blueprint for Art Standards. My principal wants me to use ELA Common Core Standards along with the Art standards.
Is anyone else doing the same thing? I need help locating just which standards can go along with the Arts.
I'm starting a new Art & Design course and was wondering if anyone on Teachers.net has taught something similar. I'm looking on the Internet for sample lesson plans, but if anyone has some good sites or blogs to suggest, please help.

MS: Principal thought the ar...See MoreI taught: HS: Principal did not venture towards the artroom as he was a jockhead more worried about Friday night high school football and the upcoming basketball season. The numerous assistant principals did not care about art except an assistant principal who thought it was a great place to dump bad students.
MS: Principal thought the artroom should be a prison cell and no noise while the assistant wanted the artroom to be like a recess and lively. So my scores suffered greatly during observations from both administrators who had conflicting ideals about art.

Does anyone have parent volunteers take pictures and upload the artwork onto artsonia.com so that you do not have to do it. If so, do you have them use your account to sign in? Is there a way to have them create their own account to upload artwork?
i usually take all of the pictures myself. last year, i had a parent volunteer, but she couldn't come in regularly. this year, i have one person who has volunteered, but i haven't seen her yet.

I am trying to launch an art TAG program at my elementary school and would like to know how other teachers do it. How is it set up? When do you see your kids? Is it during the school day? Are grades assigned? Are all the grades together when you see them?

What is an art TAG program? I have never heard of it
Recently attending an Artist Teacher Workshop has changed me as a teacher by encouraging me to rediscover myself as an artist. I will record steps taken to stay artistically productive and share images of completed art works. Producing my own art is vital to me feeling complete and strengthens my confidence in teaching. I am an artist; always have been and always will be. I am now determined to actively pursue my own artistic path. Even the small steps are worth taking.
