Is there a proper way to apply kiln wash to the kiln shelves? When I apply it seems the wash cracks off after only one or two firings. Isn't it supposed to last much longer?
Crayon Queen You're probably applying it too thick. I apply a couple coats but it has to thoroughly dry (sometimes over night) before I apply the second coat.

Jennifer Thin coats 3-4 layers with drying in between coats each layer brush the opposite direction- horizontally the first time, vertically the next time, and so on.

Hope this helps. this is what I've done and it has lasted many months for me.
