I have been teaching in a very low income district. This is my first year in this district. There is a teacher on our team who is very negative. She is frequently seen putting down children ( calling them names and putting them down). She is a negative force that often times brings down others around her.

Many teachers feel the way I feel about her. She should not be in this high needs racially diverse school. ( She has made racist remarks in the past regarding ELL students). Every Monday she is often heard saying " I hate this place, I cannot wait to get out".

No one seems to stand up to her. I finally was fed up with her always getting her way. In a professional way, I spoke up that I disagreed with her at in a meeting. She often gets services for her kids because she cannot handle them etc ( extra support). Often leaving other students in other grades getting nothing. LJ First off, don't expect any suppport or sympathy from your principal. She/he most likely knows what goes on and has turned a blind eye. You're better off conferring with a union rep for advice.
