Its been a month into summer from my first year and I keep looking back and should've/wouldve/could've the whole year (to the point where I obsess about it). How do I stop thinking about everything I could've or should've done last year and move on?
learn from it I'm assuming you are continuing teaching.

It's ok to think about what you did the first year, but you have to do something with it besides think. If you don't like how things turned out, how you acted/reacted, then use this time to make an action plan. What are you going to do differently next year? Old Teacher I agree with all "learn from it" wrote. I will also add that if you continue to "obsess", you might look for a job other than classroom teacher. Life is too short....

Summer is a time to decompress and forget about "school" as much and as often as possible. If I had not, I would have never made it to retirement(Oh, happy days).

Judy2/CA This will by my 18th year teaching. At the end of the school year I usually spend a few days in the the classroom cleaning, decluttering, etc to get ready for the next school year.
