Randall, I liked your video and the music was fun. I think it would only be for elementary grades, but could open up important consersations. That was LOTS of work!

Hi, I wrote a song titled Step a Bully which can be found on iTunes. My students respond well to the song, and are always requesting me to play the song. The message created by the song is very kid friendly, and the cha cha cha beat attracts my students sense of beat and rhythm!

Hello, Our school has just implemented a 1:1 ipad program. I understand the implications this can provide in regards to bullying. I have been searching far and wide to find different apps that are great for in the classroom. The main idea of these apps is to have the students screen on what you want it to be when they are in class. These apps include Nearpod and Socrative. During lunch time, however, the bullying can begin. To help this situation we have asked for all ipads to be kept in the classroom during breaks (also to avoid damage etc). We also have a Learners program. It is a booklet that outlines the specifics and standards that the child must adhere to if they are to bring an ipad. This needs to be signed by their parents also. I guess that the main thing to remember is that not all students will do the right thing, but we must be encouraging to those that do. We must limit their usage of the tech devices during breaks (they are on them always at home!) and keep their attention during class. Hope that answers a bit of your questions and is informing. P.S. with ipads/iphones a rule in the class to get their attention is to say 'Apples Up' which means they must have their ipad face down on their desk with the back of their ipad facing the ceiling on their desk
Cyber bullying is a hot topic. Many people are focused on how to prevent bullying over the technological devices kids use today. I am wondering how these tools can be used to prevent bullying before it occurs. Perhaps the use of Skype or webcams to form relationships between students who otherwise would not likely interact?
Hmmmmmm, sounds like a good sug...See MoreI had a suggestion made today that sparked a question. The question was, "If you have a bully situation where he/she picks a victim for time outside, could it help if you imported someone that looked younger than he/she was and was a 3ed degree black belt, and cleaned the bully’s plow, would it stop it?”
Bullying bullies or meeting bullies with their own behavior sends the message that it's ok to bully. Bullying is one thing that doesn't respond in the old 'fight fire with fire' idea.

My name is Jared scherzo and i'm a psychologist in NJ writing a new book on school violence. I'm looking at many factors but targeting school culture as a primary component. If any of you are interested, i'd be very interested to hear if you are experiencing parents as more bullying in recent years, forcing their agenda irregardless of the impact on the school culture. If you are willing, my email is [email removed].
